We need to find alternative storage space for the items we have for sale. If you have a garage or a shed that you are not making full use of would you consider letting it out to our charity.

Unfortunately, we are still unable to open our tea bar in Clinic 21 at The Rosie Hospital.

The Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge

On Thursday 27th April Hazel Crabtree and Susan Howlett went to The Awards Ceremony for the finals of The Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge held at the Junction Cambridge. It was the first year this had been held in Cambridgeshire. There were three teams in the final two from St Ivo and one from St Mary’s Girls School. Although the St Ivo team raising money for us didn’t win they did win an award for the Best Display and Presentation. They were called The 7 Marketeers the team was made up of Tiago, Lewis, Freya, Jacob, Michael, Ben and Jordan. They gave a very good presentation and they raised £386 for The Friends of the Rosie. A very enjoyable evening again being able to promote Friends of the Rosie.

April News

The Friends of the Rosie Hospital are helping to make the Rosie a more comfortable environment for mothers and babies. If you have any toy stuffing or yarn we are in urgent need of your donation. For up-to-the minute information follow Rosie in Stitches facebook page.

We found out at our Annual General Meeting in March that during 2015 we spent £11,780.00 of your valuable donations on 3 apnoea monitors which help with babies’ breathing, 3 movable breast pumps and 10 cots.

The Tea Bar sold a massive £725.80 of knitted toys and clothes, nearly half of Rosie in Stitches total income. After expenses Rosie in Stitches income was £1,624.85.

Anna Shasha, Head of Midwifery, expressed her appreciation of the equipment we had bought. The wooden cots look lovely. She suggested that we could provide small things like transfers on walls which make a huge difference to the appearance of the rooms.
